The development and implementation of the FVT system (fast visualising tool)
Querying databases for thousands or millions of records is a process that takes a long time. A system that works in the background making queries to the database at pre-defined intervals by pre-defined instructions and saves the processed results to a file, a system that updates the information in the file at every interval so the file always contains the newest information is a system that will save the user the heartache of waiting for such queries. This dissertation concludes the presentation of the design and implementation of such a system. Evaluation of the system follows along with future work and conclusion. Appendices containing the disk contents, program code and example of the data that the system works with are also included.
