We study a ring structure on a two-dimensional electron gas
with both Rashba and Dresselhaus spin-orbit interaction in
an external magnetic field. The competition between the two
kinds of SOI leads to a deformation of the charge and spin
densities around the ring. After examining the one-electron
eigenstates we investigate Coulomb effects. We use two different
ring models: a continuous model with analytical single
particle states (Tan-Inkson) and a discrete model (tight-binding) which is more convenient for many-body calculations.
We show that for more than two electrons the deformation of
the charge density is smeared out by the Coulomb interaction, whilst the deformation of the spin density is amplified.
