  • Hugmyndafræði TEACCH (e. Treatment and Education of Autistic and related Communication handicapped CHildren) er viðurkennd meðferðarleið í kennslu og þjálfun barna með einhverfu sem fellur vel að hefðbundnu leikskólastarfi. Tilgangur þessa verkefnis er að stuðla að bættri þróun í ríkjandi starfsháttum er varða foreldrasamstarf í leikskólum þar sem valin hefur verið sú leið að vinna samkvæmt hugmyndafræði TEACCH.
    Rannsóknarspurningar verkefnisins eru:
    •Hvaða þættir skipta máli til þess að þróa jákvæð samskipti foreldra og sérkennara í þeim tilgangi að stuðla að auknum lífsgæðum og árangri barna á einhverfurófi?
    •Hvaða ályktanir má draga af rannsóknum og skrifum fræðimanna sem fjalla um samskipti fagaðila og foreldra barna á einhverfurófi þar sem unnið er eftir hugmyndafræði TEACCH?
    •Hvert er faglegt hlutverk sérkennarans í samstarfi við foreldra barna á einhverfurófi í leikskólum?
    Verkefnið er heimildaritgerð þar sem viðfangsefnið byggist meðal annars á fræðilegri umfjöllun ýmissa sérfræðinga ásamt rannsóknum sem gerðar hafa verið á þessu sviði.
    Niðurstöður leiða í ljós mikilvægi foreldrasamtarfs í íhlutun barna á einhverfurófi einkum varðandi það að þróa hugmyndir og leiðir sem auka lífsgæði barna á einhverfurófi. Hugmyndafræði TEACCH stuðlar að markvissri þjónustu við börn á einhverfurófi og fjölskyldur þeirra. Foreldrar þurfa aukinn stuðning í uppeldishlutverki sínu og sérkennarinn gegnir veigamiklu hlutverki í samskiptum og ráðgjöf við foreldra sem efla þarf enn frekar.
    The TEACCH model is a recognized method that is used in teaching and training children with autism and suits conventional preschool practices. The main purpose of this project is to promote practice in parental involvement that has become increasingly recognized as a key component in total service delivery in preschools where the TEACCH method has bean chosen as intervention.
    This project is a sourceessay and the research questions are:
    •What factors are important in developing positive communications between parent and special teacher in order to increase the quality of life and performance of children with autism?
    •What conclusions can be drawn from studies addressing communication of professionals and parents of children with autism where the TEACCH model is used for intervention?
    •What is the main professional role of special teacher working with parents who have children with autism in preschool?
    The conclusions reveal the importance of parent partnership in intervention for young children with autism spectum disorder expecially when developing idieas and ways that promote increased quality of life. The TEACCH method promotes effective service for children with autism and their parents. Parents need more support in their educational role and the special teacher has an important role regarding interaction and support for parents that needs futher strengthen.
