„Himnarnir segja frá Guðs dýrð.“ 19. Davíðssálmur í sögu og samtíð

Abstract

Umfjöllunarefni þessarar ritgerðar er 19. Davíðssálmur Gamla testamentisins. Saga sálmsins er rakin, skýrt frá því hvaða merkingu staðsetning hans innan sálmasafnsins hefur og hvernig hann er flokkaður samkvæmt flokkunarkerfi Hermanns Gunkel (1862-1932). Sálmurinn er greindur og túlkaður með aðstoð fræðimanna og skýringarrita þeirra. Áhrifasaga sálmsins gegnir veigamiklu hlutverki í ritgerðinni þar sem sagt er frá ólíkum birtingarmyndum hans í menningunni, meðal annars í bókmenntum og í kvikmyndinni Ned Rifle (2015). Að endingu er sagt frá Guðfræðilegri niðurstöðu sálmsins og hvaða boðskap hann færir.

The topic of this paper is the 19th Psalm of the Old testament. The history of the psalm is told, the meaning of the psalm´s location within the Psalter is explaned and Hermann Gunkel´s (1962-1932) form-critical classification of the psalms is introduced. The Psalm is analized and interpreted with the help of scholars and their commentaries. One of the main task was to study the effects of the Psalm and the many different appearances in cultural context, f.ex. in the movie Ned Rifle (2015) and in literature, especially in icelandic poems. Finally a summary of the theological conclusion of the Psalm is presented and what message it brings.
