This research seeks to explore the humorous interpretations of negotiations on climate change by satirists from states bearing greatest responsibility for greenhouse gas emissions. It contemplates the question of what might constitute the essence of humor related to global warming. Editorial cartoons, which were reviewed, provide evidence of the phantasmagorical nature of the United Nations' Conference of the Parties process. Among the main targets of laughter are China, the US, and India, as well as authorities from these countries. Science and climate activism yet remain rather peripheral.
