    Fjölbrautaskóli Snæfellinga er nýlegur framhaldsskóli þar sem notast er við óhefðbundnar kennsluaðferðir. Skólinn er hannaður með tilliti til opna skólans og miðast kennsluaðferðir hans við það. Upptökusvæði skólans er Snæfellsnes og sunnanverðir Vestfirðir. Markmið rannsóknarinnar var að kanna viðhorf nemenda til skólans.
    Spurningakönnun var send út í tölvupósti og á Facebook og var úrtakið þeir nemendur yfir 18 ára aldri sem numið höfðu við skólann á einhverjum tímapunkti. Í þessari rannsókn voru viðhorf núverandi og fyrrverandi nemenda könnuð með tilliti til búsetu. Þá var mælt hvort viðhorf hefði breyst eftir nám í skólanum.
    Niðurstöður sýndu að ekki var munur á viðhorfum nemenda eftir búsetu og eru nemendur almennt jákvæðir í garð skólans. Einnig voru kannaðar ástæður fyrir því hvers vegna nemendur völdu skólann. Niðurstöðurnar voru bornar saman við viðhorfskannanir á öðrum framhaldsskólum og kom í ljós að ástæður þess að velja skólann eru sambærilegar fyrri könnunum.

  • Fjölbrautaskóli Snæfellinga is rather new upper secondary school that uses untraditional teaching methods. The school is designed by the concept of the open classroom its methods’. The school is located in Grundarfjörður and its students come from the northern part of Snæfellsnes and the southern part of Vestfjords. The aim of this research was to measure the students’ attitudes torwards the school.
    A survey was sent out via email and Facebook aimed at students that
    had studied or are students at Fjölbrautaskóli Snæfellinga and are over 18 years old. The attitudes were compared to where the participants grew up and if their perspective changed after their studies at the school.
    The results showed that there was a not a difference in attitudes depending on where the participants grew up and a great majority of the participants have positive attitudes towards the school. Reasons for why the participants chose the school were also measured and it showed similar results as in previous research.
