  • Do people only work for money? : preferences of monetary and non-monetary benefits of employees of Landsbankinn hf.
Degree:
  • Master's
Abstract:
  • Abstract is in Icelandic

This thesis examines the values of benefits of employees of Landsbankinn hf., both monetary and non-monetary benefits. Differences in values based on demographic characteristics of the employees and risk appetite was examined. In addition, the effect of introducing an additional grant for employees in maternity leave on the willingness to take full maternity leave was explored. The findings suggest that non-monetary benefits were generally more valued with the employees at Landsbankinn hf. Differences were also found in preference for benefits based on demographic characteristics and risk appetite of the employees. In addition, the willingness to take full maternity leave was found to be significantly greater when an additional grant for maternity leave was offered.
