Wạnderlust [ˈvandɐlʊst]

Abstract

Wanderlust describes the pleasure of hiking and the strong desire to travel and discover new places. The aim is to create buildings which provide a necessary resting place for visitors while exploring the area through hiking. The three buildings which are located along the hiking trail mark destinations with increasing walking distance and difficulty that lead visitors deeper into the mountains. The first location is a visitor center at the glacier lagoon and serves as an introduction to the area and the nature. The second is a chalet in front of the glacier. There wanderers can rest and return or continue the exploration the next day with a glacier guide. A bothy located in the mountains surrounding the glacier makes it possible to wander further and discover remote areas.
