This is a final report about a creation and impartation of a robot in fulfilment of the Final Year Project 2008-2009. This report covers the design and creation of a fire-fighting robot that could be able to enter a competition that is held early at Trinity College. The aim of this report is to show the creation of the robot, including the design progress of the robot itself, the assembly of the robot as well as the design of the program for the robot. The goal of the robot is to enter a building, locate a fire, put it out and get back to starting position. All of this is what can be called a simulation. The building the robot enters is a mock up of a house and the fire is represented with a candle. Since creating a fully functional robot can be expensive it was decided that for the robot for this project would be a prototype made out of LEGO. At the end the robot that was created is able to locate a fire, put it out and navigate around inside a mock up house as well as it is able to avoid walls.
