The Gisin equation is introduced and several of its qualities discussed. Nakajima and Zwanzig’s formalism is applied to the damped harmonic oscillator and the resultant equation is compared to the Gisin equation using the Crank-Nicolson method as a test bed for numerical calculations. The agreement between these two equations are discussed as they differ between different initial states of the harmonic oscillator.
