The project Hostile Bodies is an investigation of data centers, places representing a fascinating paradox of human relations with machine landscapes. The contradiction lies in the existence of two bodies, physically hostile to each other, yet digitally and virtually profoundly interrelated. Hostile Bodies is composed of two platforms; a publication and a website. Based on a careful research, the project may be placed at the intersection of informative and speculative design. By shaping unreal images and alternative realities, the speculative drawings are meant to provide unusual perspectives on new architectural typologies, in order to contemporarily interpret and promote a better understanding of the function of data centers.
