Skapandi dans : mótun handbókar fyrir danskennara í grunnskólum

Abstract

Tilgangur þessarar verkefnis er að skapa verkfæri í formi handbókar fyrir kennara til þess að sinna danskennslu í grunnskólum. Ritgerðin fjallar um sköpun og mótun handbókarinnar ásamt því gera grein fyrir hugmyndafræði hennar. Handbókin á að nýtast kennaranum til að skapa aðstæður fyrir skapandi vinnu í dansi. Henni er ætlað að stuðla að fjölbreyttari danskennslu í grunnskólum og hún býður upp á margbreytileg verkefni fyrir sundurleitan nemendahóp. Grunnstoðir handbókarinnar eru hugmyndir tveggja fræðimanna í dansi; Rudolf Labans, frumkvöðuls í dansfræðum, og Anne Green Gilberts, danskennara og sérfræðings í skapandi dansi. Meginviðfangsefni þeirra er líkaminn og færni hans, ásamt mikilvægi hreyfingar og hvernig hún mótar skilning okkar á umheiminum. Kennslufræði bókarinnar byggir á kenningum Howard Gardners prófessors og Lev Vygotskys, sálfræðings og kennara, en þeir lögðu báðir áherslu á einstaklingsmiðað nám með því að nýta ólíkar kennsluaðferðir til að styðja við nemendur. Í handbókinni er einnig fjallað um hvernig nemandinn lærir í gegnum líkamann með sómatískri nálgun þar sem innri upplifun líkamans gerir nemandanum kleift að hreyfa sig á eðlislægan máta og litið er á líkamann sem eina heild. Höfundur kenndi handbókina í grunnskóla í sjö vikur þar sem hann kenndi nemendum í 3., 5. og 8. bekk. Ásamt því að fá tvo danskennara sem starfa í grunnskóla til þess að prufukeyra efnið. Aðferðir starfendarannsókna, viðtöl og dagbókarfærslur, voru notaðar til að móta og þróa handbókina. Niðurstöður sýndu að handbókin vekur danskennara til umhugsunar um skapandi vinnu ásamt því að nýtast þeim sem gagnabanki til þess að styðjast við í kennslu í skapandi dansi. Markmið handbókarinnar er að gefa nemandanum tækifæri á að skapa út frá sjálfum sér og uppgötva nýtt hreyfimynstur, og njóta dansgleðinnar. Í gegnum ferlið upplifði höfundur að bókin tók mið af þessum þáttum ásamt því að gefa kennaranum færi á að leiðbeina og hvetja nemendur til eigin sköpunar. Hún gegnir því hlutverki sínu sem verkfæri kennarans í skapandi dansi.

The purpose of this thesis is to create a tool in the form of a manual for teachers who teach dance in elementary schools. The thesis deals with the creation and formulation of the manual and explains its ideology. The manual is to be used by the teacher to create the conditions for creative work in dance. It is intended to promote a more diverse dance education in elementary schools and offers a wide range of projects for different groups of students. The ideology of the manual is mainly based on the works of two dance scholars; Rudolf Laban, a pioneer in dance, and Anne Green Gilbert, a dance teacher and creative dance specialist. Their main challenges are the body and its skills, together with the importance of movement and how it shapes our understanding of the outside world. The pedagogy is based on the theories of professor Howard Gardner and Lev Vygotsky, psychologist and teacher, who both emphasize individualized learning by utilizing different teaching methods to support students. The manual also discusses how the student learns through the body through a somatic approach and how the inner experience of the body allows the student to move in a natural way and sees the body as a whole. The creator taught the manual in elementary school for seven weeks where she taught students in 3rd, 5th and 8th grade. As well as getting two working elementary school dance teachers to try out content from the manual. Methods of action research, interviews and journal entries, has helped to shape and develop the manual. The results showed that the manual draws teachers into thinking about creative work and that the manual is useful as a databank for the teacher to use in their teaching in creative dance. The goal of this manual is to give the student the opportunity to create from themselves and discover a new movement pattern, and give the student the opportunity to experience the joy of dance. Throughout the research process, the creator felt that the manual took these aspects into account at the same time as it gave the teacher the opportunity to guide and encourage students for their own creativity. Therefore the manual serves as the teacher's tool for creative dance.
