Veflægt námsefni í hönnun- og smíði með vísun í reynsluheim nemenda

Abstract

Smíðaverkefni fyrir grunnskólanemendur virðast oft úr takti við tímann og ekki aðgengileg kennurum á veraldarvefnum. Til að bæta úr þessu gætu smíðakennarar unnið meira saman og miðlað þeim verkefnum sem nemendum finnast áhugaverð á veraldarvefnum.Markmið þessa verkefnis er að auðvelda kennurum og nemendum grunnskólans að afla sér slíkra hugmynda að viðfangsefnum fyrir nemendur í hönnun og smíði. Höfundur setur upp veflægt verkefnasafn undir slóðinni: http://smidaverkefni.life/. Vefsvæðið byggir á Word-Press kerfinu sem auðveldar hönnun og framsetningu vefsíðna á öllum sviðum fyrir leikmenn sem eru ekki sérfræðingar á sviði upplýsingamenntunar. Sem eigandi vefsvæðisins getur höfundur veitt öðrum kennurum aðgang að henni og þeir sett inn verkefni sem ganga vel hverju sinni. Jafnframt geta þeir á umræðuþræði fjallað um ágæti þessara verkefna og hvernig gengur að smíða þau.Vefsíðan inniheldur verkefnasafn höfundar en það eru verkefni ætluð mismunandi aldri nemenda í grunnskólum. Verkefnin byggja á kenningum hugsmíðahyggjunnar þar sem þeim er ætlað að hafa skírskotun í reynsluheim og áhugasvið nemenda. Verkefnin taka einnig mið af hæfniviðmiðum Aðalnámskrár grunnskóla.

The Icelandic elementary Design and Craft projects are often not in harmony with student’s daily life and actual projects in different schools not accessible to other schools on the WWW. To change this situation, teachers could work together and share descriptions and images of projects over the internet that they know students like and find easy to make. The aim of this M.Ed. work is to enable Icelandic teachers and elementary students to access descriptions of such undertakings and to make the subject Design and Craft more actual at schools. The author will in the beginning set up a WordPress web with collection of projects for different age of elementary students under the web address: http://smidaverkefni.life/. To have access to such web will enable teachers to work together and set up successful projects from their classes on the WWW. They will also be able to develop them together via blogs, without having to be specialists in ICT. Their blogs will include comments and reports from their classes in terms of the student’s abilities to finish their tasks. In his work the author will build on social constructivism theories. The students work will refer to their daily life’s experiences and interest. They will, moreover, be set up according to the aim of the Icelandic National Curriculum.
