Heimsmarkmið Sameinuðu þjóðanna og námsframboð á Heilbrigðisvísindasviði Háskóla Íslands 2019–2020 : viðfangsefni sjálfbærrar þróunar og sjálfbærnimenntunar

Abstract

Meginmarkmið þessarar meistararannsóknar var annars vegar að fá yfirlit yfir hvar í námskeiðum heilbrigðisvísindasviðs (HVS) Háskóla Íslands (HÍ) er unnið að eða með sjónarmið sjálfbærrar þróunar í anda heimsmarkmiða Sameinuðu þjóðanna (SÞ) eins og þau birtast í kennsluskrá háskólaárið 2019–2020. Hins vegar var sjónum beint að sérverkefni höfundar sem fólst í leit að vísbendingum um hvers konar sýn á illviðráðanleg vandamál, sýn á veika og sterka sjálfbærni og sjálfbærnimenntun birtist í námskeiðslýsingum fræðasviða háskólans.Rannsóknin er hluti af stærra rannsóknarverkefni sem nær til allra fimm fræðasviða háskólans. Í þessari rannsókn fólst greining gagna í að lesa allar námskeiðslýsingar HVS, hvort sem námskeiðin voru kennd veturinn 2019–2020 eða ekki, og merkja við í greiningartöflu hvort inntak einstakra heimsmarkmiða mætti finna í texta námskeiðslýsingar eða hæfniviðmiðum þess. Hins vegar byggja gögn rannsóknarinnar á greiningu námskeiðslýsinga allra sviða HÍ með hliðsjón af sérverkefni höfundar, en gögnum um það af hinum sviðum HÍ var safnað af öllum fimm þátttakendum rannsóknarinnar.Niðurstöður gefa vísbendingar um hvaða heimsmarkmiðum virðist vera markvisst unnið að innan háskólans en einnig hver þeirra virðast fá minni athygli. Á heilbrigðisvísindasviði komu skýrast fram teikn á sviði heimsmarkmiðs 3, heilsa og vellíðan, og heimsmarkmiðs 4, menntun fyrir alla, en erfiðara er að sjá skýrari línur hvað önnur heimsmarkmið varðar. Niðurstöður eru ræddar með hliðsjón af stefnu Háskóla Íslands, HÍ 21, og stefnu SÞ sem og annarra fræða sem kynnt eru. Þessar niðurstöður munu nýtast við endurskoðun stefnu háskólans sem og hverju fræðasviði við endurskoðun á því hvernig upplýsingar um námskeið eru sett fram í kennsluskrá HÍ.

The main purpose of this research is to get an overview of to what extent the Univeristy of Iceland‘s courses in School of Health Sciences seem to include issues of sustainable development as defined by the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) from the United Nations (UN) as they are presented in the univerity‘s one-line course catalogue academic year 2019–2020. On the other hand the focus of this research is on the author’s own project which includes signs of what views on wicked problems, sustainable development and sustainability education appear in the univerity‘s courses.This research is a part of larger research project which includes all five schools of the University of Iceland. Data analysis included reading every course description from the School of Health Sciences, whether the courses were taught in the academic year 2019–2020 or not, and record into a data analysis table if the content of individual SDGs appeared to be in the course descriptions or its learning outcomes. On the other hand the data of the research is based on the analysis of the courses of the whole university regarding the author’s own project, but data for the other schools of the university were collected by the other participants of the research project. The results indicate which SDGs seem to receive the most attention and are worked with within the university and which SDGs seem to receive less attention. Within the School of Health Sciences the SDG no 3, Good Health and Well-being, and 4, Quality Education, seem to get the strongest attention, but it was difficult to see clear emphasis on the other SDGs. These results are valuable for revising policy of the university in whole but also for each of the university’s Schools to revise how and to what extent information about courses are presented in the course catalogue.
