Þriðja þéttbýlið – Gæði, kostir og tækifæri Stokkseyrar innan sveitarfélagsins Árborgar

Abstract

Stokkseyri er lítill þéttbýliskjarni innan sveitarfélagsins Árborgar sem er sveitarfélag staðsett á Suðurlandi í um 40 mínútna akstursfjarlægð frá Reykjavík. Innan Árborgar eru þrjú þéttbýli og er Stokkseyri minnst þeirra. Heiti verkefnisins vísar til þess hver staða Stokkseyrar er innan sveitarfélagsins út frá tilfinningalegu mati höfundar við upphaf verkefnisins.Innan verkefnisins er rýnt í þau tækifæri sem til staðar eru innan þorpsins og hinar ýmsu forsendur fyrir frekari uppbyggingu greindar út frá því hvaða styrkleikar, veikleikar, tækifæri og ógnanir eru til staðar og reynt að meta þessa þætti gagnvart stærri þéttbýlum innan sama sveitarfélags. Auk þess er þorpið skoðað út frá hugmyndum um lífsgæði íbúa og er með almennum hætti rýnt í þau gæði sem til staðar geta verið innan smárra þorpa. Út frá þessum greiningum og skoðunum eru lögð fram einföld markmið og viðmið er varða uppbyggingu mismunandi svæða innan þorpsins og unnin gróf tillaga skipulagsbreytinga ásamt skýringarmyndum sem sýna hugmyndir um ásýnd einstakra svæða innan þorpsins.

Stokkseyri is a small village within the municipality of Árborg which is located in the south of Iceland, about 30 minutes' drive from Reykjavík. Within Árborg there are three urban areas, and Stokkseyri is the smallest of the three. The name of this project refers to the standing of Stokkseyri within the municipality based on the author's subjective assessment at the beginning of the project.The project examines the opportunities that exist within the village and various prerequisites for further development are analyzed based on what strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats are present, especially in relation to the larger urban areas within the same municipality. In addition, the village is examined with reference to ideas about the quality of life for the inhabitants, and in general the quality of life within small villages is examined. Based on these analyses and surveys, simple goals and criterias are presented regarding the development of different areas within the village and a rough planning proposal is developed along with illustrations showing ideas of the appearance of selected areas within the village.
