Tucked in between is a theoretical analysis of my practice, putting focus on the conceptual development over time and the relation between some of the latest works and the earlier ones. To do so I expose the main topics of my practice and explore the connection they have between themselves. These being Language and communication, Narration, Methods of meaning making and understanding, and Emotional expression.
I will present a theoretical frame on these topics; I will talk about translation and migration in relation to identity and social networks, as well as poetry.
My work is inter-disciplinary, with a preference for installation and video, with strong site-specific elements to curate or direct the subjective experience of the guests. I try to set a context in which to produce a mindset shift in the viewer to stimulate critical thinking and imagination, so presenting non-concrete imagery develops into concrete narratives.
