Linear pneumatic actuators are a crucial part of automated systems. They are extensively used in industrial and robotic applications. They excel in performing repetitive linear work and have numerous advantages, such as being inexpensive and safe. Automatic condition monitoring solutions lower operational costs and increase the productivity of industrial factories. A condition monitoring system was designed and implemented. Data acquisition was achieved by using a high-performance MEMS microphone. The software architecture was designed around a signal processing algorithm to be deployed on edge devices. The algorithm cleans raw operational signals, extracts statistical signatures, and delivers a classification result for each component. The condition monitoring solution was applied to a test bench to form a proof-of-concept monitoring system.
