  • Development and research of adding gamified elements into Bati software and the effect it has on users struggling with substance use disorder
  • Bachelor's
  • Issues relating to substance use disorder are a problem worldwide. Mobile applications have been made to assist people in their sobriety, one recently made in Icelandic called Bati. The 12 steps of the AA fellowship have been a valuable component for people in recovery yet none of the existing apps have focused on digitizing them or focused on how it could assist with motivating the users. This thesis introduces a user-centered gamified design in the Bati software based on research done on people who have struggled with substance use disorder (SUD) and are in recovery.
