After having spent an entire semester researching the history and production of banknotes for my BA thesis, I wanted to delve deeper and attempt to answer the question, “Can I successfully reproduce a banknote with all the resources available to me?” In short, the process was easier said than done. The illustrations alone took approximately 100 hours to redraw, and the intaglio printing method pushed me to my limits. The final result is far from perfect, and the entire process is presented here as a book. In closing, it is safe to say that banknote design is a very complex and intricate affair and for good reason.
