Útikennsla og snjalltækni : notkun snjalltækni í útikennslu á yngsta stigi grunnskóla

Abstract

Þessi ritgerð er lokaverkefni til B.Ed. gráðu við kennaradeild Háskólans á Akureyri. Í verkefninu er fjallað heildstætt um útikennslu og skipulag hennar, ásamt því að skoða hvaða ávinning hún hefur fyrir börn. Einnig er fjallað um mikilvægi útikennslu þegar kemur að námi og þroska barna. Þessu til stuðnings er fjallað um námskenningar fræðimannanna John Dewey, Lev Vygotsky og Jean Piaget, og tengingu þeirra við útikennslu. Jafnframt er viðfangsefni verkefnisins snjalltækni, möguleikar hennar í kennslu og ávinningur þess að nýta hana í útikennslu. Verkefninu fylgir einnig frumgerð að snjallforriti sem höfundar hafa hannað fyrir yngsta stig grunnskóla. Forritið inniheldur ýmis verkefni sem vinna þarf úti í náttúrunni og tengjast þau öll árstíðunum fjórum. Frumgerðina að snjallforritinu er hægt að nýta í útikennslu og er hún hönnuð með það að markmiði að ýta undir forvitni og áhuga nemenda. Markmiðið er að einfalda kennurum undirbúningsvinnuna, hvetja þá til að nýta sér útikennslu og þá möguleika sem hún felur í sér.

This thesis is the final project for a B.Ed. degree at the School of Education at the University of Akureyri. The project provides a comprehensive discussion of outdoor education and its general structure, as well as examining the benefits it may offer for children. It discusses the importance of outdoor education in relation to children’s learning and development. In support of this, the learning theories of scholars John Dewey, Lev Vygotsky, and Jean Piaget are discussed, along with their connection to outdoor education. This thesis also addresses the use of smart technology in teaching, highlighting its potential in educational contexts. Special attention is given to how smart devices can be used in outdoor learning and what advantages their integration may bring to education. As part of this thesis, a prototype of a smart application designed by the authors is introduced, that is intended for use in the early years of primary school. The application contains various tasks that must be completed outdoors, and they are all linked to the four seasons. This prototype is designed to be used in outdoor education and aims to spark students’ curiosity and engagement. The goal is to simplify lesson preparation for teachers, encourage them to implement outdoor education more actively, and explore the educational opportunities it presents.
