Eireks saga víðförla

Abstract

This is a translation of Eireks saga víðförla with a commentary as an introduction. There are mentioned the views of a medieval copy, the sources and context of our manuscript, in order to perceive the status of its "compileur". The examination of this status reveals the originality of the whole manuscrit: the link between the audience and the "compiler". Belonging to this problematic, we discovered an interesting literary "process of evangelisation", which determine the potential main goal of this text: the transmission to others.
