<dim:field mdschema="dc" element="description" qualifier="abstract" lang="en">The present study examined whether sleep quality and general well-being varies across menstrual cycle phases among women with regular menstrual cycles. A within-subject design was used, and a questionnaire was administered via Microsoft Forms. Participants in this study were a sample of (N=16) from a larger study (n=42) who were invited to complete a questionnaire as part of a study on sleep and the menstrual cycle. The questionnaire included questions regarding sleep quality, mood, energy, concentration, anxiety, and pain across different menstrual cycle phases. Results indicated significant differences in sleep quality across menstrual cycle phases, with poorer sleep reported during the luteal and menstrual phases, compared to the follicular phase. Differences were also observed in aspects of well-being, including mood, energy, anxiety, and pain, with more negative experiences reported during the late luteal and menstrual phases. These findings suggest that subjective sleep quality and well-being vary across the menstrual cycle, highlighting the potential role of hormonal fluctuations in shaping women's daily functioning. The results emphasize the importance of accounting for menstrual cycle phase in research and clinical contexts related to sleep and well-being.
